hello Eagles I'm Scarlett scholarly I'm Melissa motivated I'm Rachel respectful and welcome back to not just another episode of Eagle News but welcome back to our 7th annual Eagle News Christmas special um Rachel this isn't look like a Christmas special special oh yeah hold on wait oh nice okay 1 more just see those jingle and ring finger jingle play right together with you outside calling you our cheeks are nice and love having fun go to class okay there we go now that's how we start a Christmas special wow what a great way to start this episode I love these pajamas Eagles we have such a special episode in store for everyone a little known fact our Christmas specials are always created and put together by Rachel respectful so Rachel what is scheduled for this episode we have not 1 but 2 entertainment Corners several top 5 lists a yummy food Corner another snack and chat with and we bring back a segment we haven't seen since season 3 how exciting well what are we waiting for let's get started for our first segment we now go to entertainment Corner take it away run run Rudolph run off way too far behind hello Eagles welcome back to another edition of entertainment Corner my name is Hayden Lopez I'm Charlene Reyes I'm and today we'll be seeing you come decorate the best gingerbread house let's get started Run Run Rudolph make him hurry tell him he can take the freeway down run run the Rudolph cuz I'm reeling like a merry go around dead center to a Boy Child what did you belonging for all I want for Christmas is a rock and roll electric guitar and then a we went to Rudolph a whizzing like a shooting star 1 more minute we got a mini without finishing touches okay look at this wait what is this okay wait wait I have an idea go like this I do um so this wait we need to put the gingerbread people I already did in the front Okay now I have oh my gosh oh my gosh no put put right I will at the last second at the last second at the last second I got this oh something fell know we need we need sprinkles or something here here here here here finally join me where do we put the gingerbread do we have to hang them up no no no just put stick them like in the front right here you do that I need to steal decorate this 1 everything down okay these are definitely losing well it goes we decided the winners are Esmeralda and Yeti congratulations well it goes to another edition of food corner I'm assuming I'm a super Rodriguez I'm vantes and today we're going me reading on my list let's get started the first 1 we're going to try is pork tamales they're getting oh unfortunately not that bad I like it actually tastes good I like it it's like a 9 for me it would have been a 10 if it was spicy cuz I like not spicy but it was actually really good I imagine 9 also yeah I'll give myself a 9 too now we're going to be trying thank you that's hard wait this is a little sweet yeah sweet flavor I like it is it like it's not bad I don't know how to explain it I'd give it like a like the 7.5 it kind of knocked me off just a little bit because it was like sweet and I was like ooh what is this um I gave it like a 8 like it's not bad but it's not like the best I wouldn't yeah I'll give it a 7.5 um that was the last 1 was actually pretty better than this okay on to the next 1 now I'm going to try baby canceled flavor tamales um it's okay yeah I can check the cheese but it's okay not that spicy so I kind of rate it like an 8.5 it's good but like I don't really like cheese you can't really taste it and then the jalapenos are dusty it's good okay I already like a 4 it's okay I don't really like like that but like yeah I'll get a 5 I don't really like any spicy I would rate it a 5 too on to the next now we are going to be trying more oh my I know very next day you gave it away I don't know why I feel about this 1 mall is good but I don't like this actually I don't know if this tastes weird yeah I can't describe it I don't know it's it's actually tastes like so sweet like it's supposed to be spicy but I don't I don't like really good I feel like the 3 like a 2 I didn't know I'll give it a 3 I don't know how to feel about it I'll give it a 1 2 on to the next 1 now we go we're going to try I'm so excited cuz I like I know it's kind of hard it's so good good taste like the red 1 yeah a little spicy I love it yeah oh I feel so bad I give it a 10 out of 10 it's actually really good and there's it's like spicy and I love Cheetos yeah give it a 10 cuz it's spicy and I love spicy things I'll give it a 8 I don't really like spicy things I give it a 10 because I like the spiciness on to the next now we're going to try a new flavor of alote tamale I don't know what it is it's not like bad yeah this doesn't really smell good I think what I'm scared this is so bad it's kind of sweet that was so gross that was really bad I gave it like zero don't ever try this 1 ever again yo I give it zero it's not good it was actually yeah it's zero I do not like it 0 oh my god well legals thank you for watching another edition of food Corner bye Eagles what a yummy segment I love tamales I love with the family and enjoying tamales and family time you're right Rachel I can eat tamales every day I especially like the next day when we eat them up on the stove on the stove I have to try and like that moving along with our episode we hello Eagles and welcome back to another edition of second chat with Mr Leos and a movie yes today Mr Leos chose several snacks for us to try while I interview him let's get started your first question is you chose for your students to read The Outsiders because they they relate to the characters but what character do you relate to uh very similar to the students in that I probably relate most to um probably Pony Boy I can remember um a moment in my life looking at my parents thinking of all the restrictions thinking there's 2 how many restrictions just leave me alone like I I've got it all figured out and I think uh there was a moment where I like Pony Boy figured out you know my parents really care about me when I really looked at their behaviors how hard they worked everything they 5S I realized very quickly at that moment well they really liked me so it's very similar to Pony Boy having that Revelation when he was in the hospital and he was reunited with his brother after the fire very sweet um what snack do you want to try first all right so so I I this this donut it's like combining 2 of my favorite things at donut and a Kit Kat so we got to try this flavor right here okie dokie Let's Get Down On It Here We Go it's like a like a brown color it's like a it's like a light caramel like caramel looking I know it's on the on the top there's a little thing oh it's like double color a dual color okay you ready yeah cheers mm do you get donuts from that you think donut I get like a like a mocha latte frappuccino in there or something yeah if you were to give me this without telling me the flavor I wouldn't have guessed donut right yeah that you know what that's that's the next segment is next time you give them something and cover up the of the flavor and I guess this and watch how far there are they're going to see like tuna fish it does it does have that like maple to it I can see that yeah I like it very good yeah I don't like hiccups though you don't like hiccups you have a lot of look at all these big cats how are you going to get through this interview with all these I don't I don't mind them I just don't like I don't like wafers I'm sorry but no it's fine I wish you'd have informed me that prior to the interview and I oh no it's fine perhaps would have chosen I like I like chocolate I like any chocolate it's just these are my favorite all right but it's fine I'm going to secretly feel sad for you we could try all these chocolates I'm sorry it's okay I'll see your prayer next question okay how are you how do you typically spend the holidays and what is your favorite tradition okay so holidays usually for US starts um for Thanksgiving like a lot of people and 1 of the biggest Traditions I have in my family is we make pumpkin pies uh as a family so we make pumpkin pies from scratch pumpkins take the pumpkin um process it and we make fresh pumpkin pies not every year so that's that's a big tradition in my family we do that every year that started with my mom way back in the 80s early 80s and my mom passed uh a while back and we kept the tradition going we just we love doing it and then in Christmas time everything we do is pretty traditional but there's 1 thing that we do that's unique which is our ornaments our ornaments that we choose for our tree is we like to buy an ornament anywhere that we travel so anywhere we travel we get an ornament there so we go to like Las Vegas we get like a Las Vegas ornament we go to Nebraska we so like our tree has like all the locations that we traveled together yeah so that's 1 little tradition we do how do you process the pumpkin into the pumpkin pie so what you got to do is you cut the pumpkin you take all the gunk and the seeds out the center and then what you got to do is you you steam it place them into the processor it takes off the skin and then it just comes out as like a like a gold orange mush and that's that's what becomes your pumpkin yeah it makes a big difference having like canned pumpkin as opposed to Fresh stuff so we really love ya um what which 1 of your snack do you like to try let's go with all right I feel bad you know let's go with this so get some distance between chocolate cuz you don't like the Wafers I do the Duos right here parmesan and cheddar I love truck car it's my favorite it like shoots you okay here we go there's a parm 1 oh look it's like different colors that's good really good I I've never tried to cheese that I didn't like I like them all with you that's no you cannot really good for me I like cheese it's a lot more than goldfish I know some students might want to beat me up for saying that cuz they really like uh goldfish but I don't know I I could never get on the Goldfish train I was always a cheesy so but like I said you might want you might not want to say that out on the black top I get in trouble next question growing up what presents to the stood out to you the most in other words what's the best present you've ever gotten as a kid oh that's a hard 1 um I do remember as a kid my first bike was probably pretty big I remember waking up in the morning we opened presents for Christmas in the morning and I remember seeing the bike and I didn't know how to ride a bike yet so that was exciting for me and then I remember you over the course of time uh learning how to write it which was really exciting so yeah it's probably my first bike probably my first bike Good Times all right let's go with all right I'm going to have to go back to wafers let's go with the combo this we're going to combine vanilla with the OG chocolate okie dokie all right get OG chocolate very nice right there there's a all right stack them ready bye mm okay it takes a while to like combine the flavors yeah you got to like blend them with the biting but yeah I'm not good enough it's really there you are you sure there's a way for killing you too much wafer in there I like these candies it's just it's just not at the top of your list yeah all right here's my favorite question really okay let's see what you got how did you become so close to miss miss Mr ah how did you become so close with mria is there an origin story not really I think it just kind of happened organically seeing each other at staff parties and stuff like that you know I'd see them from across the room you'd see me from across the room it kind of like that guy looks like fun and then we'd you know hang out and stuff like that that's kind of how it I guess that sounds kind of romantic but it was just kind of like that where we just kind of kind of hung out more and more after you could laugh at me um did you meet Mr Eddie or Miss Cochran or did he oh Mr Eddie uh actually no I actually met Miss Cochran way back in like the early 2000s I actually met Miss Cochran um but I didn't really stay in touch with her she was on a different campus and then Mr idea came to I think he came to Rivera and like the late 2000s and then that's when I I met him yeah yeah is your biggest student pet peeve biggest student pet peeve excuse me is probably students not realizing their potential I I wish students could really see the power that they have and to really take it upon themselves to really make the best use of their time to do everything they can to just bring that that power and that Brilliance that they have out so when I see students that just don't understand their potential that that definitely irks yeah yeah all right you want to try the lemonade yes I'm really excited for that 1 all right I didn't even know this existed before today not that 1 Let's Get Down smells kind of like a strawberry milk like a strawberry shortcake strawberry shortcake which is a good cartoon back in my day when I was a kid Strawberry Shortcake had uh scratch and sniff Snicker stickers you like 50 on that then the smell would go away after like an hour like strawberry milkish strawberry cupcake I like the strawberry part not the lemonade part ah I don't really get any lemonade much in there yeah this place is turning red like strawberry it's like ew it's like in the back of my throat I could taste like the Citrus shop you're not I didn't make them you're not going to hurt my feelings get rid of it you got some water over there Dr Pepper yourself cheers okay better mhm familiar flavor nice no next question what 3 books would you recommend every middle schooler oh holy cow um The Outsiders I do think it's important I think once you read it you kind of become part of like a club because everybody that goes through school uh reads through reads it for uh at 1 point or another uh second I see like any uh Greek mythology ology I think it's something that's something that's really prevalent in so much uh media that you just need to know those stories third it's it relates to my pet peeve probably the autobiography of Malcolm X because he was somebody that started as nothing and he realized his potential and became amazing all right what are we doing do you want OG cheeses all right we're distance between yourself and that lemonade flavor I see the best not the best when I was younger I used to like bite off all the edges and then separate it like not an Oreo are you I do that with all of it like I I separate my goldfish into and then you would like bite off all the edges yeah and then just separate it into well do you ever eat the um there were like the little cheese and peanut butter little crackers what sandwich you ever see those you know they're like cheese and peanut butter I never like I like peanut butter I like the cheese cracker but I don't know if I like the combo yeah it's like a little 2 pack and it's got like a circular cracker the Ritz where it's like the cracker cheese cracker or cracker peanut butter cracker but it hasn't seen them combined no it's like a little cracker I just seen them growing up but yeah I don't know about cheese cracker and peanut butter it's not not my jam um Christmas songs or Christmas movies you love singing and I'm watching yes uh favorite Christmas song is probably the Little Drummer Boy back um something about the image of the little kid playing the drum I just always gets me just fantastic song and then uh Christmas movies uh yeah I have a couple that are my favorites um my personal favorite is a Christmas story uh the 1 with Ralphie you'll see try out and he wants to be begun and then second is probably home alone uh because my kids love to watch the end when the robbers get all beat up so I don't think they even watch the whole movie they just watch like the ending part which I guess is a little disturbing because they just like to see them get all beat up and messed up and stuff and and this is the part you like that's what they like oh it's pretty funny when I was younger I didn't like to consider Home Alone a Christmas movie what because okay the plot doesn't surround itself around Christmas it takes place during Christmas but it it is it is not this sounds like a pretty start of a pretty good essay you might want to write an essay on this yeah and then 1 of my friends used to like hate me it was like their favorite movie and for me to say it was in Christmas yeah over the years I I really began to appreciate it more um even the other day I was watching it and I saw that the um I guess the makers of the film they wanted the house to look like Christmas so if you watch the house the wallpaper is red and green the carpet is red and green like every if you look in the house everything is red and green it's fantastic so it's really good story have to cry at the end every time when the grandpa hugs his little redheaded granddaughter man gets me every time fantastic movie um and yes it is a Christmas so for our last couple Kit Kat yeah and my snack which is 2 Cherry peppermints or not Cherry peppermints 2 Cherry candy canes yes and peppermint bark squares okay which 1 do you want to try um we'll try the kick out first and then we'll do yeah that's what overriding Flavour their Holy Cannoli look how large this is oh I'm just going to do a little oh goodness me little square you all right that's a lot of wafer very good that's a lot of wafer you all right yeah you don't I need it anymore you're not going to hurt my feelings I like Kick- everybody's different pretty good I didn't think I would like this much like KitKat and a bite but pretty nice okay the squares do you know what I think it is about the Kit Kat when I eat chocolate I like to let it melt in my now you can do that but the wafer doesn't allow it the wafer do you want to try the dark chocolate or the regular regular no peppermint bark got to say I don't have this very often I love so you like mint mhm I'm not a human fan why I don't know I like it a little bit like I'm not going to if I go to somebody's house and they offer me peppermint like I'm not going to say no get away cuz that's just rude but um it's not something I reach towards all the time you know 1 of my biggest pet peeves is people who say like peppermint tastes like toothpaste because they're too they're 2 different flavors I never thought of that there's peppermint and then there's spearmint which is what toothpaste is that's correct toothpaste toothpaste is spearmint see that's pretty good this is peppermint this is really good no 2 different flavors occasionally during the Christmas season I'll get like um like a chocolate mint something at Starbucks or something but it's kind of rare very good um I always love the the shamrock shake at McDonald's that smells good mhm I've had it once wife so I prefer the chocolate like the chocolate shake that's my favorite shake at McDonald's that's 1 of the only shakes you could drink I feel like all the other shaykhs have devolved into cups of ice cream like you can't you can drink them anymore like you have to let them melt yeah so if I go to like in and out my favorite thing to order do you ever get the Neapolitan 1 there oh yeah you get the chocolate vanilla strawberry right and 1 Cup which is right but you can't drink it you got to like scoop it out you got to like wait so I did my thighs in it I've seen people now and but McDonald's is 1 Shake where you could you could just drink it and it's fantastic it's a great shake so happy with oh that was good yeah I like the bark that was good thank you yeah and I feel like my breath is fresh I guess that's a benefit right mhm you have more friends friends well cuz you breathe don't stink oh so people are more inclined to be in your company no no no no no breath doesn't make a difference I think it does I think if you had a friend that was from Halo ptosis which is a fancy word for bad breath you might want to keep some distance you might might want to make up you know I have after school with the Miss Nova Waller I'll talk to you later yeah maybe something like that or you know what you could do here's a really nice thing you do you could say like in your head like over your breath and then you know you want some of this peppermint bark and then that would help them that'd be really nice little thing do you like it you said yeah how much do you like it uh 1,000% me too what's your favorite Christmas color uh red nice how do you like the dinosaurs uh good you like them what do you rate them what what do you rate them it's a raid well on a scale of 1 to 10 how good are they giant 10 10 I think there are 10 too I like the little Corgi over here oh yeah okay let's move on to another house all right okay so so far this is my favorite house cuz it has most colors what about you Lisa what do you rate it nice and then we got more of the trees yeah you better believe the trees are better you better believe the trees I love the trees we're at this cool place and it's my favorite place to stop by this 1's your favorite yeah it's got a bunch of different yeah I have a bunch of different colors that have rainbows you like rainbow yeah I like the rainbow too what do you think about this house uh good enough good enough yeah why is it just good enough I like it I like the little Reds and whites okay and the Christmas tree I nice oh all of the house is 10 uh wow this house does not have any of the yeah yeah this house is boring is the only house oh I like this 1 I love the neighborhood for Christmas oh and it's your favorite PE teacher what they put Halloween their Christmas well it's The Nightmare Before Christmas wow I look at that and Jack Skellington yeah I like that my favorite character I like him are you the Pumpkin King the Pumpkin King yeah this 1 I love all the trees decorated yeah yeah and the other that we saw was boring yeah cuz they didn't have any decorations huh yeah yeah I think this is my favorite house now yeah it has inflatable I was expecting to see more Inflatables santa santa santa golly oh he's right there we go that's the Grinch ooh ooh the Grinch and Santa yeah here goes in front of it there you go I like well I like this 1 I like Santa more because he gives up ooh the sleigh and the owls and the Santa and the Grinch they're rich rich give me your best dance move go what what dance is that called The Floss can you show me more of it nice you like being up there yes oh man for sure I was up there I want to wish you a Merry
