What is the English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC)?

The English Learner Advisory Committee, or ELAC, is a group of parents, teachers, and school staff dedicated to supporting students who are English learners. The main purpose of ELAC is to advise the school on programs and services that help English learners succeed academically and improve their English skills.

How does it work?

ELAC meets regularly throughout the school year to discuss issues related to English learner students. They review data on student progress, talk about the school's programs for English learners, and make recommendations on how to improve these programs. The committee also helps inform parents about their rights and opportunities to support their children's education.

Who can participate?

Parents of English learners are especially encouraged to participate in ELAC, but all parents are welcome. Being part of ELAC is a great way for parents to get involved and make a positive impact on their child's education. Please contact our office or fill out our contact page form for more information.
