Course Description
Welcome to Room 26!
For the second trimester we will continue with the same Reading Program. The reading selections are as followed: Amelia Earhart Dinosaur Ghosts, Girl Who Married the Moon, Where the Red Fern Grows, Last Summer with Maizon, The Challenge, and a unit on poetry. Second trimester novel added. 1.17.12 The Island of the Blue Dolphin.
We will be reading a chapter every two nights with follow up activtiesl].
In Language Arts: We read stories and do follow-up activities in the workbooks. Other activities are grammar work sheets and grammar exercises. We are currently on Passage to Freedom. We do approximately one story every one or two weeks depending on the follow up activities.
In Math: Our math program consists of two books: CPM and CPG. Both books are used throughout the year. Each new concept is explained and reviewed throughly in the classroom. Exercises are done with the supervision of the instructor and then checked the next day.
For the second trimester we will continue the use of both books, i.e. CPM and CGP. We are working towards the CST's in May.
