NO TDAP = No SCHOOL!!

Whooping cough, also known as pertussis, continues to be widespread in California. To help stop its spread, state law mandates that ALL students entering 7th grade be vaccinated and provide proof of a Tdap vaccine booster at the beginning of the school year.

If your child does not have a Tdap booster or the school does not have proof of immunization. Please schedule an appointment with your regular doctor or bring in proof of immunization or your child will not be able to receive a schedule of classes for the next school year.

8th Grade Promotion Ceremony Information Finalized

8th grade Promotion Ceremony will take place promptly on June 7th, 2016 at 10:00 am. Parents will be allowed into the school grounds through the back of the campus at 9:15 am to line up by the gate and no sooner. Gate to enter campus will open at 9:45 am. At 8:30 am the front office will be closed for business except that involving 6th and 7th graders. No exceptions. Seating is limited so if you arrive late you may not have a seat.

Balloons, umbrellas, signs, noise makers or any other item that may disrupt the viewing/hearing of others will not be allowed on campus.

Rivera Middle School Future Engineers Night

Join Mrs. Barajas, Ms. Garcia-Cordes and their engineering students for an interactive night of design projects, models, multimedia and art work. Students Docents will guide you on an educational journey of invention and innovation.

7th & 8th grade Students: School Climate Survey

The El Rancho Unified School District is conducting a voluntary survey about school climate. The survey will be administered to students during regular school hours during the weeks of May 23, 2016 through June 3, 2016. It will ask students about their perceptions on topics such as student engagement, school environment, and school safety. Please read the enclosed flyers for more information.

Yearbooks for Sale

Yearbooks are on sale for $35. Save time and avoid the long lines and buy your yearbook today. You can purchase your yearbook in the office with cash or online with a credit card. Directions to buy the yearbook online are in the flyer.

FUN IN THE SUN!!

Fun in the sun will be held on 5/26. Remember good grades, good behavior and of course good attendance will allow you to attend Fun in the Sun. Tickets will be $1 each. Make sure to bring your money to participate in the fun events and eat some great food.

Current 7th graders: Are you interested in going to Washington, D.C & New York?

Join fellow Eagles for an exciting trip to Washington, D.C. and New York, and you’ll see history come to life! This adventure will be so much more than a typical history field trip! The tour of Washington, D.C. and New York, is designed to enhance social studies curriculum. You will gain a deeper understanding of our history, consider the consequences of politicians’ choices, and discover the American story.
If you are interested then please come to an informational meeting on April 27th at 5:30pm in our RMS library.

Parent Field Trip

Join other RMS parents on a parent field trip to CSUF on 4/19/16. Only 30 spaces available so make sure to call the office to reserve your space.

Brown University is conducting research on the college-going culture and preparedness of our middle school students on behalf of ERUSD and the Cisneros Foundation.
