Ohhhhh Noooooo... QUICK!!! YOUR GRADE IS AT STAKE RIGHT NOW...!!!!!!!! Balancing Chemical Equations .. SUPER IMPORTANT *** You MUST do this TODAY!
1) This a LAB GRADE. We haven’t had many of them. It's going to have a bigger impact when this grade gets weighted with your other assignments.
2) The LAST 4 QUESTIONS of the GOOGLE FORM LAB SHEET are ASSESSMENT Questions. There are 4 of them. On the Lab Sheet, it’s counted as 1 for the lab itself. However, those same Assessment Questions are multipled by 4 and recorded in the Grade-book as an Exam since it’s checking for understanding (which is why we take tests, exams, quizzes) in the first place.
WEEK 9 = 3 PARTS:
1) Lessons
2) Lab Sheet Work
3) Assessment (Test)
3) Week 1 -3 PACKETS are MISSING from MANY of you! Upload them to the WEEK 1 - 3 ASSIGNMENT FOLDER in THIS Classroom ONLY.
If it's anywhere else, I'm not seeing it. You're missing out on earning more points and a potentially higher grade.

Take a few minutes to reflect back on this school year. We've had our ups. We've had our downs. We've definitely had our challenges.
Then, reflect on your participation this year as you complete the form below.

Due:
I give up. I have NO IDEA where most of you uploaded the pictures of your packet to.
Please add the photos to this folder. If you emailed them to me, and I gave you credit for it, then you're good. Don't worry about it.
If you see that I marked you as NOT turning in your packet for weeks 1-3, "Turn" In here.

Due:
As you’re working today, make sure that the titles of assignments in my Grade-book have been marked as either Turned In or that the points you earned are shown in Google Classroom. If the points are there, great! If it says Turned In, make sure the Google Doc, Google Form, drawing or photograph have been Uploaded to the assignment it belongs to. Several of you have marked things as Turned In, but there is NO Attachment. If the assignment is not attached, I can’t see it. If I can’t see it, I can’t read it. If I can’t read it, I can’t grade. If I can’t grade it, you won’t get credit or earn any points. In other words, you’ll earn a zero (0).
Make sure all assignments are attached in the Google Folder for the matching assignment. You can’t email it to me. I’ll never find it. I am getting anywhere from 25-100 or so emails daily. Most of the emails are asking the same question. Soooo...
I made a list of the most common questions and their answers. It’s listed under FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions) at the top of your Google Classroom under the Classwork tab.
I’ve also attached edited recordings of some of our Meet Tutorials. They are also listed at the top below the FAQ’s under the Classwork tab. I will add any others I think will help you.
You have until 11:59pm tonight to Turn In ALL Assignments to EVERY Teacher. At midnight, the submission window will close and you will not receive any credit for things turned in after midnight.
I suggest you double check every class to ensure that you didn’t leave anything out.

This Thursday will be a “Crazy Hat Day” Virtual Tutorial on .... How to use, read, and calculate atoms on the Periodic Table of The Elements.
You see, several of you asked for a little help. So, let’s get you all over the rough spots together. If you know and understand these 12 things, you’ll be able to past your Chemistry Test 😱 easy peasy. Really. It’s cool. 😎👍🏼
Let’s talk about:
atomic numbers
chemical symbols
chemical names
atomic mass
protons
neutrons

Hey Guys!
We're going to be using a SPECIAL 8th GRADE SCIENCE GOOGLE CLASSROOM for the next few weeks.
This site is for ALL 8th Graders (Cordes AND Barajas).
Please be sure to enter the code to join the class... AND... Please tell all your friends who have Mrs. Barajas to do the same and to tell their classmates as well.
We will be available to answer questions regarding the assignments for ANY 8th GRADER from 7:30am - 3:30pm M - F.
JOIN THE CLASS
CODE = l2v67v2
All Rivera teachers & staff have created work packets for the 3 weeks of school that we are out.
If you'd rather work on paper:
* pre-printed packets are available in the office for ALL Classes. You may simply stop by school, or ask your parent/guardian to do so for you. The office is open during
normal business hours: 7am - 4pm M - F this week only for just this purpose.
All teachers are available during normal school hours [7:30am - 3:30pm] M - F to assist and answer questions as needed for the entire 3 weeks preceding our regularly scheduled Spring Break.
Work your way through the science packets. They are listed in order. In each lesson may take you about 45-55 min (a regular day's schedule). Honestly, it doesn't matter to me when you complete the lessons as long as you have everything finished and turned in electronically or bring the hardcopy packets with you to school when we return on April 13th.
You should probably "Subscribe" to my website if you haven't done so already. I will be adding extra credit assignments on MY Google Classroom for my students in the near future but NOT on the Distance Learning Classroom which includes the entire 8th grade.
Should you have any other questions, or need help on any assignments, feel free to email me during regular school hours.
Don't stress... Just do your best!
