PLTW (Period 7) Assignments

Hello PLTW 8th grader and parents.  

Information for the 8th grade PLTW Showcase is going out today.  Please be so kind as to RSVP by tomorrow evening so we have a head count.  We are making this year's celebration a pizza dinner and the students have agreed to bring the drinks and trimmings.  I will need to know as soon as possible what goodies they plan to bring.

Our Engineering Showcase that was scheduled for tomorrow will not take place.  

We will notify you all when we have a reschedule date.  Please pass this information on to your parents and family members.

I will be holding Saturday School from 8am to 12pm.  This will be the time to get all make up work completed and especially preparing the Women in Flight projects for the Showcase that is coming very soon.

All models, paintings and video must be completed in time for editing and touch up to prepare for the Third Annual PLTW Engineering Showcase.

We have been working on the "Contagious Illness" brochure for a week now.  The final copy is due Monday Night.  I will print the brochures in color Monday at 8pm.

Biomedical Science Careers- Scavenger Hunt

You need to research and select three Women of aviation using the links I have provided on the Google Classroom.  Make sure that you can write a biography piece on them with plenty of images to include to your Power point.  Have the list in order of top choice and be ready to make a final selection with your partner when you get back to class on Monday.

All bottle rockets will be ready to launch Monday. 

You will use the computers to work on the Zombie College Lab Safety assignment in class.

1.  Go to http://www.ncbionetwork.org/zombie-college/

2.  Use the video to answer the worksheet "Zombie College: 5 Rules of Lab Safety."

3.  When you finish watching the video, click on ZC Video Games and take the quiz.

4.  Once finished and see your certificate, you will print the certificate and turn it in with your worksheet.  If you do not get to finish in class and cannot print at home, then screenshot it or take a picture with your phone and email it to [email protected].

 

 

 

Hello Parents/Guardians, 

My apologies for the delay on uploading this consent form.  (Technical difficulties).

I have spoken to most of you regarding the National Geographic Explorer Classroom that is going to be held on  this Tuesday, September 12 @ 6am.  The consent form is attached to this assignment with the description of the scientist that the students will be skyping with.

I will have a copy of the consent letters on Monday.  If it is possible to sign and return that same day, I can make copies available in the office.  The sooner we have a count of the number of students participating, the better.
